Sunday, Day 1

Shalom. Welcome to Israel. Arrive at Ben Gurion International Airport where you will be met, assisted through luggage claim and customs then escorted to your transfer vehicle for the transfer to the HOTEL CINEMA or similar. Once you have checked in, the balance of the day is free.

Dinner and overnight.

Monday, Day 2

After breakfast we start our day with a visit to the Old Port City of Jaffa (Yafo) just south of Tel Aviv for a beautiful panoramic view of Tel Aviv. Hear the stories about the first Jewish city of the modern era. Next enjoy a walking tour of Neve Tzedek, Tel Aviv’s new hip neighbourhood where the intellectual elite lived during Israel’s early days.

Leaving Tel Aviv we travel north to visit the ancient city of Caesarea built by Herod the Great. View the excavated Roman Theater and the historic aqueducts once used to convey water to the city. Then it’s onto the ancient port city of Acre, a fascinating UNESCO town.

Tuesday, Day 3

Our first stop is the mystical city of Safed (birthplace of Kabbalah) and one of the four Holy Cities. Stroll through the narrow, winding alley’s, visit some of the beautiful synagogues and browse through the artists’ workshops and galleries found in the flourishing artists’ quarter. Next we take a boat ride on the calm waters of the Sea of Galilee and visit Capernaum where a second century synagogue was discovered. According to Christian tradition, Jesus served here as a local rabbi and performed miracles.

On Mount of Beatitudes lies a beautiful church from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the northern part of the Sea of Galilee. Next is Tabgha, site of the Church of the Multiplication. Afterwards drive to Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus, Mary and Joseph and visit the Church of the Annunciation where Mary was informed about her immaculate conception.

Return to Kibbutz Lavi or similar for overnight.

Wednesday, Day 4

After breakfast we head out and explore one of the Kibbutzim around the area  and continue to Belvoir Fortress or Kochav HaYardenlocated on the eastern Issachar Plateau at the edge of a steep slope above the Jordan Valley. The spectacular panorama gave the fortress its name – Belvoir “beautiful view”.  The reconstructed fortress is the most complete Crusader fortress in the country and the only one that has been fully excavated.

Next is the beautiful Ein Gedi Reserve to see the waterfalls found at this oasis in the desert mentioned several times in the Book of Psalms and discuss Biblical stories of King David hiding from King Saul.

Thursday, Day 5

After breakfast we float in the buoyant waters of the Dead Sea and cover ourselves with the healing mud that the Dead Sea is so famous for. Continue south to the legendary mountaintop fortress of Masada and ascend by cable car to the ancient fortress. Explore the site with its synagogue and bathhouse. This was the last stronghold of the Jewish zealots in their struggle against the Romans.

Friday, Day 6

After breakfast visit the newly renovated Israel Museum where the Dead Sea Scrolls are exhibited and view a large Model of Jerusalem as it used to be in the 2nd Temple period.

Next is Yad Vashem, the moving Memorial dedicated to the Victims of the Holocaust. Take a tour of the new Holocaust History Museum which occupies over 4,200 square meters, mainly underground. At the end of the Museum’s historical narrative is the Hall of Names, a repository for the pages of testimony of millions of Holocaust victims and a memorial to those who perished.

Visit the Machane Yehuda Market, the Israeli shuk where you will enjoy the colors, smells and unique atmosphere of the alleys and stalls as well as tasting local products.

Saturday, Day 7

Travel to the Mt. of Olives for a panoramic view of Jerusalem. Overlooking the Old City, the mount is covered mostly with olive trees as well as cemeteries and churches commemorating Christian events associated with Jesus. Descend via Palm Sunday Road to visit the Garden of Gethsemane. Enter the garden with its ancient olive trees

Believed to date back to the time of Christ. We then enter the gates of the Old City and walk the Via Dolorosa and end with a visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Walk through the Arab Bazaar and observe Middle Eastern life with  its rich colors, flavours and aromas. We now proceed to the holiest place in Judaism today, the Western Wall also known as the “Kotel” or “Wailing Wall”.

Sunday, Day 8

Your visit to Israel has now come to an end as you are transferred to Ben Gurion International Airport for your flight home. Lehitraot. Nesi’á tová.

Tours are operated on a guarantee departure basis from a minimum of 2 participants to a maximum of 25 participants.

Children under the age of 06 years old will not be able to participate.
