Sunday, Day 3
Tel Aviv/ Caesarea/ Megiddo/ Druze Village/ Haifa/ Galilee
We head north to Caesarea to see the excavations of the Crusader’s City, the aqueduct and the amphitheater, now a popular concert venue. Some 30 miles southeast of Haifa we find Megiddo where excavations have unearthed more than 26 layers of ruins which indicate a long period of settlement.
We continue to Mount Carmel to enjoy a late lunch at a local restaurant before proceeding to Haifa for a panoramic view of Haifa Bay and the golden domed Baha’i Shrine and gardens.
On arrival in Galilee, check in to a Kibbutz Hotel for overnight.

Monday, Day 4
Galilee/ Safed/ Golan Heights/ Winery visit/ Galilee
On this day we focus on Safed, the center of the Kabbalah movement where you will visit the ancient synagogues and Artists’ Colony. See the Yosef Caro and the Ari Sephardic Synagogue, the most important synagogues in the city. Spend time strolling around the bustling Artists’ Quarter before continuing to Golan Heights to gain insight into the history and strategic significance of the Golan Heights. See Kuneitra, badly damaged in both the 1967 and 1973 conflicts, and now left in ruins.
We continue to the capital, Katzrin, one the largest Jewish settlements in the Golan. This quiet community is now home to a successful winery which we will tour, followed by wine tasting. Proceed to the Magic of the Golan “Kessem Hagolan” visitor’s center located in Katzrin for an IMAX theater multi-media presentation on the area and its history.

Tuesday, Day 5
Galilee/Sea of Galilee/Nazareth/Jerusalem
We start the day with a visit to Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation before continuing to Tiberias, located on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee. In the nearby village of Capernaum, visit the ruins of the 5th century Synagogue. See the Octagonal Church of St. Peter. Next is the Mount of Beatitudes, the hill upon which Jesus delivered the famous “Sermon on the Mount.
We continue to Beit She’an at the junction of the Jordan River Valley, and the Jezreel Valley, where excavations uncovered the remains of 20 settlements dating from the Neolithic – Chalcolithic period . Stop in Beit Alpha located in the Beit She’an Valley to see the beautiful mosaic floor of the ancient Synagogue from the Byzantine period. We end the day driving via the Jordan Valley towards Jerusalem.

Wednesday, Day 6
Jerusalem/ Old City/ Bethlehem*/ Jerusalem
We start the day with a magnificent panoramic view from the Mount of Olives, and then drive to the Old City to visit the traditional site of the Tomb of King David, the Room of the Last Supper, and the Dome of the Rock — sacred sites to Jews Christians and Muslims.
Enter the walled city and walk through the newly restored Jewish Quarter, one of the four traditional quarters of the Old City. See the Herodian Quarter. Continue to the Western Wall and then along the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Then to Bethlehem*, where we visit Rachel’s Tomb and Manger Square, flanked by the Church of the Nativity and the Mosque of Omar. Return to Jerusalem for overnight.

Thursday, Day 7
Jerusalem/ New City
We drive to the Israel Museum, Israel’s national museum in the Givat Ram district of Jerusalem, which houses the Shrine of the Book and the famous Dead Sea Scrolls. Nearby is the Holyland Model of Jerusalem, a 1:50 scale model of Jerusalem in the late Second Temple period. Continue to the Knesset, Israel’s Parliament.
Afterwards we head to Mount Herzl located on the west side of Jerusalem, and then to Yad Vashem, the somber and moving memorial to the Holocaust. Next, we head to Mea Shearim to learn about the unique lifestyle of the ultra-Orthodox communities. Return to the hotel for some time at leisure. In the evening enjoy a Middle Eastern dinner followed by a spectacular 45 minute “Sound and Light” show at the Tower of David.

Friday, Day 8
Jerusalem/ Qumran/ Masada/ Dead Sea/ Jerusalem
Drive through the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea, stopping at Qumran, an archaeological site in the West Bank where the famed Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in a series of 11 caves, before continuing to Masada. Ascend by cable car to the top to tour the fortress and visit the remains of the palaces, synagogues, the bathhouses and the walls before descending by cable car. We head back to the Dead Sea, where you can experience floating in the unsinkable waters.

The day is at leisure. Optional services at one of the many synagogues. Be part of the special atmosphere of Shabbat.

Sunday, Day 10
Jerusalem/ The Negev Desert/ Timna/Eilat
We travel south through the Negev Desert to see the world’s most ancient copper mines before heading to Eilat. On arrival we visit the Coral World Underground Observatory, one of the largest seaquariums in the world.

Monday, Day 11
Eilat or Petra
The day is yours in Eilat to relax and enjoy the Dolphin Reef, swim with the Dolphins, windsurf, waterski, dive, snorkel, parasail, hike, camel ride, skydive, shop or relax. Alternatively you may choose to take an optional day trip to Petra and tour the Siq Canyon.

Tuesday, Day 12
Eilat /Mitzpe Ramon/ Sde Boker/ Tel Aviv
We head for Mitzpe Ramon, a town in the Negev Desert to view the Ramon Crater. Next is Sde Boker, a kibbutz in the Negev established by a group of discharged soldiers and best known as the burial place of Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Ben Gurion.
Stop for a camel ride experience and a visit to an authentic Bedouin tent. Learn about Bedouin hospitality and enjoy a light lunch. Continue to Hatzerim, a kibbutz west of Beersheba, and then to the Israeli Air Force Base located nearby.
Afterwards we drive back to Tel Aviv for overnight. (B/L)
