We will start with a walking tour of Alfama quarter alleys, the oldest one of the city and learn about the important Jewish community in the city, enlarged numerously by Sephardic Jews expelled at the end of the 15th century. Visit the  “Shaaré Tikva” Synagogue; the Jewish Community Centre, opened in 1948 as a cultural center and the “Rua da Judiaria”. We then climb up to the St. Jorge Castle, dominating the city view on its seven hills, for enjoying the breathtaking views of the city and ocean. We’ll walk downhill towards the Rossio Square, where the inquisition court was held, also visiting the traditional commerce zones of the city housed in 18th century buildings.
