Arrive in Munich, where you will be met by your Tour Director. Transfer from airport to hotel for check- in. Balance of afternoon at leisure. Transfer to a local restaurant for a special dinner later in the evening.
Meet your local guide for a visit to two concentration camps from the Nazi era – Dachau and Kaufering. Later return to Munich with a stop at Central Station to meet our speciality guide who will speak about the Kaufering complex. Leave Munich for a visit to Kaufering Concentration Camps. These camps were set up as subcamps of the Dachau concentration camp. Return to Munich. Dinner is at leisure.
Depart Munich and drive across the border to the Czech Republic. Arrive in Prague to meet a local guide for your a tour of the Jewish Quarter known as “Josefov”. Next is the Old Town Hall for a visit to the mediaeval synagogues, Alt-Neu Synagogue, the Pinkas Synagogue and the Maisel Synagogue. Walk through the old Jewish Cemetery tour of Jewish Museum. After the tour check in to your hotel for free time. Dinner will be held at a local restaurant.
Drive across the border to Poland and continue to Krakow with a stop en route for lunch. After checking in to your hotel, meet your tour director for a panoramic walking tour of the Old Town, one of the most famous districts in Poland. Return to the hotel. Balance of the evening and dinner are at leisure.
Join a local guide for a tour of the historical Kazimierz District. The tour begins at Bohaterow Getta Square. Continue to the Old Synagogue–one of the oldest in Poland–completely devastated and then re-built after WWII. Visit the Renaissance Cemetery and Wolnica Square. Then depart for Auschwitz-Birkenau, considered the largest of the Nazi concentration camps. Afterward we return to Krakow. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
KRAKOW/BUDAPEST B/D SHABBAT
Cross the border to Hungary en route to Budapest. Check in to your hotel. The balance of the day is free. In the late afternoon walk to a local restaurant to celebrate Shabbat Dinner.
Drive to Serbia to visit Subotica, the second largest city in Vojvodina. Join the local guide for a tour of the city including the City Hall, the Main Square, the Franciscan Church, the historic National Theatre and the Synagogue dating back to 1902. Check in to the hotel. The balance of the evening and dinner are on your own.
Leave Subotica and cross the border back into Hungary arriving in Szeged. Meet a local guide for a walking tour which includes views of the Synagogue, the Votive Church, the Serbian-Orthodox Church and the riverbank of the Tisza. There will be time on your own to explore. Return to Budapest and check in to your hotel. The balance of the day and dinner are at leisure.
Join a local guide for sightseeing of Raul Wallenberg Memorial Statue and the Dohany Synagogue, the second largest Synagogue in Europe. Continue to the Jewish Cemetery and the Holocaust Memorial. The balance of the day is at leisure. Enjoy an evening farewell dinner at the hotel.
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
