Aufgang Travel, a leading full-service travel agency has been serving the community since 1949. Together our staff has over 150 years of combined experience in the travel industry. Our expertise and vast knowledge enables us to specialize in all facets of travel providing one-on-one service that is not attainable with internet bookings. We specialize in a wide variety of cruises, spa vacations and luxury vacation packages. We also create unique itineraries for small groups of family and friends as well as larger like-minded or religious-based group tours. Our team provides knowledgeable input with personal service resulting in good value and meaningful experiences.

Our History

Aufgang Travel was established in a storefront at Spadina Avenue and College Street in Toronto in 1949 by Isaac Aufgang. The family business was later passed on to his son, Emile, and daughter Lea. The company flourished by serving the ever-changing travel needs of its clientele and established itself as one of Canada’s foremost experts in travel to Israel.

In 2005, Emile Aufgang retired and sold his interest to YYZ Travel Group, knowing that his family’s tradition of fine service and integrity would be perpetuated.

In 2007, Aufgang was invited to become a member of Virtuoso, the world’s oldest and most prestigious travel association. Less than 1% of America’s agencies are accepted for membership in Virtuoso, and only 15 agencies in Canada are part of this network. These select agencies must meet Virtuoso’s criteria for extensive knowledge and wide-ranging experience on travel throughout the world.

Formerly the Vice President of Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd., Janice comes to us with over 46 years of experience in the travel industry. She brings an exceptional wealth of travel knowledge to Aufgang, overseeing the day-to-day operations of this busy and energetic office. Janice specializes in deluxe individual arrangements, group travel and customized complex tours for discerning travellers. In addition to serving the needs of her clients, Janice is involved with arranging travel services for the disabled community specializing inaccessible destinations.

Barbara Abrams

TRAVEL PLANNER

An integral member of the Aufgang Team for over 40 years, Barbara is a business travel specialist. Having a flair for detail, she not only strives to meet the needs of business travellers but also exceeds their expectations whenever possible. Equally skilled in planning leisure travel, Barbara has successfully assisted her corporate clients in arranging their personal vacation plans.
