Electronic Travel Authorization for Entry into Israel
The new date that an ETA-IL (Electronic Travel Authorization) will be required for travel to Israel is now January 1, 2025. All international travelers from visa-exempt countries must have a valid ETA-IL prior to departing for Israel.
The ETA-IL system began its pilot phase on June 1, 2024. Currently, participation is voluntary for interested visitors from eligible countries. To thank those who use the system during the pilot, the fee for the ETA-IL will be waived.
Key ETA Details:
– Visitors with a valid ETA-IL can stay up to 90 days in Israel.
– The ETA-IL is valid for up to 2 years or until the passport expires.
– In case of passport renewal or changes in personal information, a new ETA-IL will be required.
– The ETA-IL’s cost will be 25 ILS (~$7 USD/ ~$10 CAD).
– This fee will be waived during the pilot phase.
– International travelers who require a valid visa to visit Israel do not need to apply for the ETA-IL as well.
