Greece Jewish Tour, 11 days

Special Tour 11 day
Greece Greece

This fascinating journey explores the Jewish presence in Greece which dates back thousands of years.  Although most Jews in Greece are Sephardic, the oldest community is known as the Romaniotes who still live in communities on the mainland and have their own unique customs with functioning synagogues today in Ioannina and Athens. Thessaloniki known as the “Mother of Israel” was totally destroyed during the War, but what remains is a rich legacy. This tour of Greece combines the Jewish sites in pre war neighbourhoods as well as the breathtaking scenery of this fascinating destination.
